External object storage

Run Relic from the chart against your own object store, such as Amazon S3, R2, MinIO or GCS.
  1. Create two differently named buckets, the temporary one with a one-day expiry. See SeaweedFS, Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, MinIO, Google Cloud Storage, Backblaze B2 or another service.
  2. Create the relic namespace:
    kubectl create namespace relic

Create a Secret with the key pair, admin password and encryption key:
kubectl -n relic create secret generic relic \
      --from-literal=objectStorageAccessKey='<access-key>' --from-literal=objectStorageSecretKey='<secret-key>' \
      --from-literal=adminPassword='<admin-password>' \
      --from-literal=encryptionKey="$(openssl rand -base64 32)"

  3. Put these settings in values.yaml:
    seaweedfs:
      enabled: false
    existingCredentialsSecret: relic
    objectStorage:
      endpoint: https://s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com
      region: eu-central-1
      artifactsBucket: example-relic-artifacts
      temporaryBucket: example-relic-temporary

  4. Install Relic:
    helm install relic oci://ghcr.io/relicbuild/charts/relic --version 0.2.0-beta.4 -n relic -f values.yaml

With External PostgreSQL, the same Secret also holds databaseURL. objectStorage.defaultCredentials replaces the keys with the platform's identity.
